Overview

Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Legal Technology, the Senior Analyst provides advanced support to the firm's clients and case teams, including e‑discovery consulting, project management and technology training across the litigation process. This position works independently on medium to large matters and delegates tasks to junior team members. Responsibilities include implementation of litigation applications, technology solutions, project management, and training.

Availability for overtime and travel flexibility required.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with case teams to assess and support technology needs throughout all stages of litigation.
  • Manage advanced technical and project management aspects of discovery following the Electronic Discovery Reference Model.
  • Collaborate with client General Counsel and IT to identify relevant data sources and execute collection plans.
  • Interface with end users to understand data landscapes and architecture.
  • Provide guidance on selecting outside vendors and serve as liaison between the case team and vendor.
  • Act as e‑discovery project manager: develop recommendations, plans, cost estimates, budgets, procedures and specifications for case‑specific projects; advise on database design, e‑discovery workflow, and technology‑assisted review.
  • Develop and deliver technology‑related training and document review workflow processes.
  • Consult on trial support services, on‑site and courtroom technology, and trial presentation.
  • Design litigation technology classes and prepare training materials.
  • Mentor junior legal technology analysts and specialists; delegate work assignments.
  • Comply with department and firm procedures and policies.
  • Assist with firm and departmental projects; perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Stay current on data minimization, TAR technologies, and data analytics; advise case teams.
  • Work on client, firm, and department projects for 1,600 hours annually, with a minimum of 1,300 hours billed to client work.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of litigation support experience.
  • Excellent organization, project management, and communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of litigation applications, discovery processes, case management, and document control.
  • Experience working with vendors on pricing proposals and project management.
  • Experience with data analytics, TAR, and litigation support applications such as Relativity, Brainspace, Opus2, Trial Director, ASPs, and other automated discovery tools.

Compensation and Total Rewards Package

Ropes & Gray offers a comprehensive total rewards package including health and well‑being benefits, personal and professional development, career growth opportunities, and a collegial culture. The anticipated pay range is based on the role’s location and qualification level.

Boston;
Washington DC;
Chicago: $117,200 – $178,700

New York City: $127,900 – $195,000

The role is eligible for a discretionary performance bonus.

Working Conditions

This position requires hybrid on‑site presence as an essential function, with consistent and predictable on‑site attendance for business continuity, professional development, and collaboration.
