What You’ll Be DoingAs a Senior Technology Architect in our Enterprise Architecture team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the bank’s future technology landscape. Your strong expertise in delivering architecture in financial services will drive transformation, enhance client experience, and ensure compliance with regulatory, data management, and security standards.
We enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement—1‑3 days per week on‑site, with remaining days remote.
How You’ll Succeed- Enterprise Data Strategy:
Create a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the organization’s business strategy, outlining data management, usage, and integration across the enterprise. - Architecture Development:
Design scalable, secure, and high‑performing solutions for core banking, payments, lending, investment products, and digital platforms. Establish and maintain architectural standards, patterns, and documentation. Evaluate and recommend technologies to improve system performance and scalability. - Regulatory and Security Compliance:
Ensure compliance with regulatory, data management, and security standards in all designs. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and enhance cybersecurity and operational resilience. - Strategic Leadership:
Define and execute architecture aligned with strategic business objectives. Develop long‑term technology roadmaps and future‑state architecture visions. Advise senior leadership on emerging technologies and their impact. - Collaboration and Mentorship:
Partner with cross‑functional teams to align technology requirements with business goals. Mentor design and development teams on architectural best practices. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- 8+ years of experience in software design and architecture, with knowledge of data management principles (data modeling, warehousing, integration, governance), cloud‑native solutions, containerization, and public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS). Experience with bespoke and vendor platforms (e.g., FIS) is an asset.
- 5+ years within financial services, focusing on banking, payments, or lending, and a solid background in enterprise architecture (TOGAF, BIAN, or related) and operational resilience. Advanced knowledge of microservices, API integrations, messaging frameworks (MQ, Kafka) and data analytics platforms.
- Certified professional: TOGAF 9;
Azure or AWS related certifications; CISSP or equivalent is an asset. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field;
Master’s degree a plus. - Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and evaluate current and emerging technologies to drive decisions that deliver the best solutions for the business.
At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $150,000‑$180,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may include a discretionary bonus.
