The New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) keeps New York City healthy, safe, and clean by collecting, recycling, and disposing of waste, cleaning City streets and vacant lots, and clearing snow and ice. DSNY is the nation's largest municipal sanitation agency, with nearly 10,000 employees, 59 district garages, and a fleet of more than 5,000 trucks, cars, and other types of equipment.
The Department clears litter, snow, and ice from approximately 6,500 miles of City streets and removes debris from vacant lots as well as abandoned vehicles from City streets.
We are seeking a highly skilled Service Now Developer with deep, hands‑on expertise in Field Service Management (FSM) and the Source Procurement Operations (SPO) suite. The ideal candidate will design, configure, implement, and optimize Service Now applications to support field operations, procurement, supplier management, and workflow automation across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities- Hands‑on experience with Service Now’s SPO modules, especially:
- Procurement module (PRs, POs)
- Vendor Management
- Contract Management
- Asset Procurement Lifecycle
- Invoice & Finance workflows
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript, Glide API, Flow Designer is required
- Good to have knowledge of Integration Hub, REST/SOAP APIs, MID Server
- Familiarity with ITSM, CMDB, CSM, and cross‑module relationships.

Minimum QualificationsApplications Development;
Web Development, Design, and Maintenance;
Business/Systems Analysis;
Project Management Support;
Application Design; GIS Structures, Spatial Analysis, and Mapping Principles;
Testing;
Technical Writing; and Version Control; OR
However, if you qualify under options “2,” “3” or “4,” you must have at least a four‑year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and at least 24 months of satisfactory full‑time (not classroom based) specialized information technology experience as described in “1” above.
