Chief Architect

Akkodis is seeking a Chief Architect for a Contract with a client in Chicago, IL/Richardson, TX. This role involves designing and developing microservices-based solutions using Spring Boot and driving cloud-native deployments with CI/CD pipelines.

Rate Range: $53/hour to $68/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and lead microservices using Spring Boot and Core Java, ensuring scalable, secure, and cloud‑ready architectures.

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment to Azure; enforce Dev Ops best practices.

• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with SQL/No

SQL databases (Postgre

SQL, Mongo

DB), including data migration to Postgre

SQL.

• Architect and implement cloud solutions on Azure, leveraging containers and cloud services; ensure reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.

• Drive standards and best practices (design patterns, authentication/authorization, secure coding) and conduct code reviews and technical mentorship.

• Collaborate with clients and cross‑functional teams to translate business requirements into technical designs; lead Agile ceremonies and guide delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

• 10+ years in IT, including 8+ years in Core Java, 6+ years with Spring Boot & Microservices, and experience leading Java teams.

• Proven hands‑on expertise with Microsoft Azure (cloud deployment, containerization, CI/CD pipelines) and RESTful API design.

• Strong experience with SQL/No

SQL databases (Postgre

SQL, Mongo

DB), authentication/authorization, and Dev Ops/CICD best practices;
Kafka/event‑driven design is a plus (PBM domain knowledge preferred).

Pay Details: $53.00 to $68.00 per hour
