Prestigious company seeking a Director, Software Engineering to lead a team focused on building event-driven solutions. Requires experience with Java 8, AWS, Kafka, multi-threading, and related technologies. (

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a team of skilled software developers.

• Collaborate with others to deliver complex projects across multiple systems.

• Manage a distributed development team, coordinate with vendors, and drive delivery.

• Develop solutions to complex technical challenges, including coding, testing, troubleshooting, debugging, and documentation.

• Lead efforts to optimize application performance and resilience through analysis, refactoring, and system tuning.

• Recommend architectural changes and new technologies/tools to improve efficiency and quality of systems and processes.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or a related technical field; MS preferred.

• 8-10 years of experience in building large-scale, compute and event-driven solutions;
Java 8+ experience.

• 8+ years of experience with Object Oriented Design, advanced patterns, and multi-threading.

• Experience with distributed message brokers (e.g., Kafka, Amazon Kinesis).

• Working knowledge of Dev Ops tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Helm).

• Experience with cloud technologies and migrations; AWS foundational services (VPC, Security Groups, EC2, RDS, S3, KMS, IAM, etc.).

• Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Citrus desirable).

• Experience with relational, No

SQL, object-based, and graph databases.

• Git workflows experience required.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Elasticsearch, Prometheus, App Dynamics) is a plus.
