Department Overview

The Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations team (GTIO) delivers modern technology that supports McDonald’s operations, including Global Networking, Cloud, End User Computing and IT Service Management. The GTIO Director – Global Cloud Dev Sec Ops  Platform will lead the McDonald’s Global Enterprise Dev Sec Ops  Platform initiative.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Vision

• Lead the Cloud Enterprise Dev Sec Ops  Platform teams, providing strategic vision while balancing near‑term output.

• Develop and deliver a cohesive vision, strategy and roadmaps for the Dev Sec Ops  Platform in partnership with multi‑functional teams.

• Maintain a strategic focus while retaining an appropriate level of hands‑on management.

• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, ensuring developers have the resources and environment needed to deliver high‑quality solutions efficiently.

Team Management & Collaboration

• Mentor, manage and hire a successful team of managers, architects and engineering professionals; set clear priorities to achieve enterprise goals and critical metrics.

• Partner with business leaders, technical product managers and architects to determine long‑term viability of systems/products.

• Communicate ideas effectively to a wide variety of audiences, including Directors, Senior Directors and VPs.

• Remove bottlenecks to enable teams to work independently; drive proactive identification of gaps and opportunities.

Dev Ops Platform Strategy & Transformation

• Drive the strategy for centralizing and rationalizing the global Dev Ops tool stack.

• Lead evaluation and selection of Dev Ops tools, promoting standardization and best practices.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement unified processes for CI/CD, automation, monitoring and security.

• Understand McDonald’s current landscape of tools, processes, standards and automation as input to vision for the platform.

• Understand global and regional infrastructure, CI/CD platform requirements and lead transformation, convergence, standardization and innovation for the Platform.

Internal Developer Portal (IDP – Cortex) Implementation

• Champion design, rollout and adoption of an IDP, leveraging Cortex to streamline developer workflows.

• Partner with engineering, product and platform teams to meet the needs of diverse developer communities.

• Establish metrics and feedback loops to continuously improve portal usability and impact.

Developer Experience (Dev Ex)

• Lead initiatives to enhance Dev Ex, focusing on reducing friction, improving documentation and providing self‑service capabilities.

• Advocate for the voice of the developer, gathering feedback and driving improvements in tools, processes and support.

Program & Vendor Management

• Lead assessments and vendor selections for groundbreaking platform tools and services.

• Balance program schedule, budget, quality and risks.

• Supervise and ensure the accuracy, quality, security and usability of all infrastructure platforms.

Analytical & Problem Solving

• Decompose sophisticated problems into straightforward solutions.

• Identify core problems or opportunities within business processes and understand root causes and impacts.

Technical Expertise

• Experience with infrastructure as a service (IaaS).
