Overview

Director Enterprise Monitoring with Financial Industry Experience.

Location:

Chicago, IL. Hybrid 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

Base pay range: $/yr - $/yr.

Responsibilities

• You will manage the team over the enterprise monitoring systems and future monitoring and observability strategy for cloud native applications running on Kubernetes within AWS.

• Supervise all direct reports and coordinate with solution architects to craft remediation or enhancement for monitoring systems.

• Understand Cloud Native applications on Kubernetes within AWS and how exposed APIs may be used to monitor them.

• Assist production support and development staff in debugging environment defects using logging monitors and/or APM-related profiling data.

• Create procedural and troubleshooting documentation related to enterprise monitoring systems and the applications they monitor.

• Ensure consistent and robust tool installations using automation tools such as Jenkins, Ansible, and Terraform for installation, configuration, and/or upgrades of monitoring systems.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience and expertise in Enterprise cloud monitoring solutions, preferably in financial markets.

Experience with Splunk, ELK, App Dynamics, ITRS, OTEL or similar is required.

• Systems administration and change management practices.

• Enterprise monitoring and reporting tools.

• Experience scripting and/or coding against APIs.

• In-depth knowledge of commonly used management and monitoring technologies.

• Experience with Internet / Web technologies and ITIL best practices.

• Experience with technologies used to support microservices.

• Networking technologies and AWS log collection (Cloud Trail, Cloud Watch, VPC Flow Logs).

• Monitoring and reporting using SNMP.

• CI/CD tools (Artifactory, Jenkins, GIT).

• Cloud native applications and Terraform experience.

• Encryption technologies (SSL/TLS, PKI) and security controls as applied to software technologies.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related area.

• 7-10 years of related experience.

• Minimum 7 years experience working in a distributed multi-platform environment.

• Minimum 3 years experience working with cloud native applications.

• Minimum 3 years experience managing technical projects.

Certificates or Licenses

• Cloud certification in AWS is a plus.
