Data Center Technician

Onsite Aurora Data Center, IL – 4267 Meridian Parkway, Aurora, IL 60504

• Ticket handling – provide remote hands assistance with trouble resolution and provisioning to clients.
• Diagnose and resolve issues – hardware assistance and problem resolution, troubleshooting client problems, repairs of servers.
• Hardware – racking, stacking, and troubleshooting server hardware.
• Cabling – install cables, label connections to data‑center and customer equipment.
• Utilise Fluke tester for provisioning and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with CAT‑6, fibre (single‑mode and multimode) and their connector types.
• Install rack/stack/cable/configure server hardware platforms and related equipment.
• Database/documentation – thoroughly document ticket logs when performing any work.
• Update inventories and work with multiple ticketing and database systems.
• Review supporting documentation for operation and installation of hardware.
• Perform daily security walk‑throughs.
• Shipping/receiving duties may be required.

• Minimum 5 years of physical onsite data‑center experience supporting equipment and infrastructure (power, space, cooling, equipment).
• Quick learning, adaptation, and retention of data‑center and client‑specific information.
• Strong teamwork capabilities.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and written skills.
• Proficiency in MS‑Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Capability to spend extended durations standing or walking.
• Security clearance may be required if working in cleared areas.

Work in a room with continuous computer‑equipment noise. May need to bend, stoop, sit, and/or walk for long periods of time. Color perception is necessary to perform certain critical aspects of this job.
