Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide classroom technology and media support to Law School users. This includes:
  • Providing maintenance, updates and troubleshooting of classroom technology systems;
  • Serving as a LSCS primary in-person point-of-contact for the Weekend JD Program;
  • Advising faculty and staff on classroom technology requirements and limitations;
  • Preparing room(s) with proper equipment for events (e.g. classroom teaching, meetings, seminars, etc.); and
  • Troubleshooting issues as they arise for online course/conference moderators and attendees.
  • Provide first level technical computing support and related services to Law faculty, staff, and students. In consultation with the Director of Law Technology and the Sr. Technology Specialist, establish priorities for service request resolution and coordinate which resources are required to resolve open service requests according to established procedures. This includes:
  • Performing the initial intake of new LSCS requests for service and managing requests through the tracking system through to completion.
  • Configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Law school Windows and Mac hardware and software, including deploying new hardware, maintaining a hardware and software inventory database, installing new software releases, system upgrades and patches on Law School systems, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Providing Law faculty, staff and student training for Law School software and hardware systems. Creating and maintaining user and system documentation.
  • Support Law School Exams. Assist with the pre-exam setup, communication, and support during exam periods. This may require irregular and/or weekend hours.
  • Work as a member of a team on various types of technology projects that support Law staff, faculty, students and departments. This includes responding to changing priorities based on the time of the semester and special projects and initiatives, alternating between desktop and instructional technology support to meet the needs of the unit, working independently and with other team members to troubleshoot and resolve service requests and questions from Law School users, and proactively asking questions and seeking clarification.
  • Maintain security protocols for Law School systems and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Work collaboratively and proactively communicate to deliver consistent, high-quality support.
  • Be available to support specific the various educational programs and conferences taking place at the law school, as well as support weekend JD needs.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed, supporting various IT projects and contributing to operational improvements.
Minimum Education And/or Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in related area or equivalent experience desirable.
  • 2+ years of technical experience or related field desirable.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience providing technical training or related field.

  • Configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Windows 10/11 and macOS hardware and software. Active Directory, and Classroom and AV technology
  • Network technologies, Microsoft SCCM, scripting languages, security networks, databases, telecommunications
  • Project management experience.
  • Providing technical training or related.
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
  • General knowledge of commonly used industry concepts, practices, and procedures.
Computer Skills
  • Proficient in Windows 10/11 and macOS.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Microsoft Exchange or similar e-mail systems.
  • Experience configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting Windows 10/11 and macOS hardware and software. Active Directory, and Classroom and AV technology.
  • An understanding of network technologies.
  • Experience using:
    Microsoft SCCM.
  • Ability to work with or learn at least two scripting languages.
