The Global Virtual Sales and Engineering (GVSE) team is a dynamic and multicultural team that consistently delivers technology sales, contributing to profitable growth. Your ImpactCisco is seeking a Solutions Engineer (SE) with a primary skillset in Enterprise Networking and secondary knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
Cyber‑Security, Cloud/AI, and Collaboration. The Solutions Engineer is a customer‑focused technical sales professional who ensures that technical information and guidance is provided to the customer, delivering meaningful outcomes based on Cisco’s product and services portfolio.
The SE will partner with our specialist Inside Account Executives (iAE) in a pre‑sales technical function, showcasing Cisco solutions, providing customer presentations, performing technical demonstrations, creating BoMs, and running proof of concept activities. The SE will partner, consult, influence, & design solutions to allow the customer to meet their desired outcomes. In addition to technology aptitude and the ability to learn quickly and stay current;
the ideal candidate's interpersonal, presentation, and troubleshooting skills should evoke passion and confidence.
Including the above, the SE will perform the following:
- Become a trusted technology advisor to the customer and the Cisco account team.
- Leverage an array of Cisco technology, services, and support specialists when necessary.
- Collaborate closely with iAEs in account planning activities.
- Educate the customer on Cisco differentiation, creating demand.
- Work with key partners to scale and set a brand preference to Cisco.
- Align Cisco’s product and services capabilities to customers business drivers.
- Translates customer and partner business needs into technical requirements.
- Knowledge of Cisco's Solutions and networking fundamentals.
- Passion for learning technology and applying knowledge to help customers be successful.
- Collaborative team player that is flexible in adapting to rapid change.
- Align Cisco’s product and services capabilities to customers business drivers.
- Bachelor's degree in physical sciences, engineering, economics or mathematics or equivalent.
- 1+ years of industry‑related experience.
- Cisco product experience or relevant experience in key competitor offerings in technology area of emphasis is required.
- CCNA, CCNP, CCIE or similar vendor certification preferred.
- Customer intimacy skills.
- Pre‑sales experience preferred.
- Knowledge about the market, competition including solution, technology and offerings.
