Digital and Automation Specialist

Our client, Manufacturing & Digital Transformation is seeking a IT Engineer to join their team. As a IT Engineer, you will be part of the Digital & Automation organization supporting site technology and digital factory initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, and a drive to deliver secure, reliable digital solutions that improve productivity and reduce non-value-added work.

Job Title: IT Engineer

Location: Chicago, IL (ONSITE)

Pay Range: $54/hr on w2

• Lead site digital transformation efforts, including 4IR technology implementation and creation of digital data dashboards.
• Ensure site compliance with industry standards and corporate-mandated cyber security initiatives.
• Serve as a site liaison to corporate and global IT and Digital Factory teams.
• Lead site IT initiatives, including key hardware and software upgrades, digital device management, server management, and network management/improvement.
• Develop and implement projects that advance Digital Factory initiatives, including integration of factory tags into the corporate data lake, productivity improvement applications for loss mitigation, and training site operations teams to use digital tools in daily work.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, or related field OR 5+ years of experience in a controls and automation specialist role.
• Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Power Apps, and Office is required.
• Experience with OSI PI, SQL, virtual machine environments, and server management is preferred.
• Ability to understand end-to-end manufacturing processes and deliver cross-functional projects on-time in-full and within budget.

• Work on meaningful digital transformation projects that support productivity, waste reduction, and production cost loss reporting.
• Collaborate directly with site teams and corporate/global IT and Digital Factory stakeholders to drive practical automation and adoption.
• Build and optimize Standard Operating Procedures for digital tools and applications to strengthen day-to-day execution.
• Contribute to automation of manual processes to reduce Non-Value Added Activities.
• Support secure, reliable operations through troubleshooting of network, server, and digital issues.
