Senior Cloud Engineer

SALARY: $148,750-$190,000

LOCATION:

4 days onsite, Chicago, IL

Looking for a candidate with 6+ years with AWS. GCP and deep Kubernetes.

Your responsibilities will be:

• Build and maintain a globally distributed cloud infrastructure platform using Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
• Collaborate with Cloud Platform Engineering and business unit application teams to engineer infrastructure solutions for their cloud-based applications
• Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes-based platforms and workloads (EKS, Cluster API), including Git Ops workflows (e.g., Argo CD)
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
• Perform system and database maintenance, including application deployment, backup and restoration, patching, and upgrades
• Maintain cloud environments through incident response, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• Participate in on-call rotations and support operational readiness

The ideal candidate has

• 6+ years of experience working with public cloud platforms (AWS and GCP preferred) in a professional setting.
• Deep, hands-on experience deploying and managing Kubernetes (EKS, GKE) and Git Ops (Argo CD).
• Deep, hands-on experience using Terraform, CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git Hub Actions), and scripting languages (Python) to deploy, maintain, and support cloud infrastructure.
• Strong experience supporting containerized applications and Linux-based systems.
• Strong understanding of networking, IAM, cloud observability, and common cloud services such as AWS VPC, EC2, S3, SNS, SQS, and Lambda.
• Familiarity with managing secrets and sensitive configuration using tools such as Hashi Corp Vault.
