Field Support Engineer II

Chicago (+ 1 day | Contract | $50/hour W2 + Travel Expenses

Epic Placements is partnering with Synoptek
, a leading technology consulting and managed services organization, on an immediate need for a hands-on engineer supporting a Microsoft client environment across the Chicago and Milwaukee markets.

This is a great fit for a Tier 2 / mid-level Windows Engineer who enjoys solving problems, can jump into a new environment quickly, and is comfortable working directly with customers.

• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated Windows and infrastructure issues
• Support Windows Server and desktop environments
• Work with Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, and related Microsoft technologies
• Assist with deployments, upgrades, migrations, and general infrastructure projects
• Troubleshoot networking, permissions, authentication, and connectivity issues
• Document work clearly and communicate directly with technical teams and customers

• Strong hands-on Windows administration and troubleshooting experience
• Experience beyond traditional Tier 1/help desk support
• Solid Active Directory and Microsoft ecosystem knowledge
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and own technical issues through resolution
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills
• MSP, consulting, or multi-client experience is a strong plus
• Power Shell, Azure/Entra , VMware, or Hyper-V experience is a plus

Pay: Approximately $55/hour W2
Schedule: Full-time
Duration: Initial one-month engagement with potential to continue month-to-month
Location: Chicago, with one day/week in Milwaukee
Travel:Mileageexpenses covered
