M365/Sharepoint Architect

Chicago, IL (Remote)

We are seeking an experienced M365 / SharePoint Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of Microsoft 365 solutions across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and user-centric digital workplace solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in Microsoft 365 services, strategic thinking, and strong leadership skills to drive innovation, integration, and user adoption.

• Design and maintain enterprise architecture for Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, One Drive, and Power Platform.
• Develop roadmaps and strategies for Microsoft 365 adoption, integration, and optimization.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise digital transformation objectives and security standards.

• Establish governance frameworks for Microsoft 365 usage, data retention, and access control.
• Collaborate with Information Security and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to applicable regulatory requirements, including GDPR and HIPAA.

• Lead Microsoft 365-related projects, migrations, and upgrades.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering and support teams.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide escalation support.

• Partner with business units to understand requirements and deliver tailored Microsoft 365 solutions.
• Promote user adoption through training, documentation, and change management initiatives.
• Evaluate and recommend third-party tools and integrations.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in IT, including 5+ years focused on Microsoft 365 architecture.
• Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft 365 services and administration.
• Experience with Power Platform, Microsoft Entra  (formerly Azure AD), Microsoft Intune, and Microsoft Defender.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security, identity management, and compliance.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

• Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, MS-600, SC-300, or AZ-500.
• Experience working in global enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Dev Ops practices.
• Ability to mentor junior architects and engineers.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Remote position within the United States.
