Coupa Applications Manager

We are seeking a Coupa Application Manager to join a Financial Systems team in Chicago. This individual will be responsible for the ongoing ownership, administration, and optimization of the Coupa platform, supporting key business processes across Procurement Operations and Finance.

This position will evolve as support workflows become increasingly automated, creating greater capacity to focus on platform enhancements, process optimization, and strategic system improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the ongoing administration, maintenance, and performance of the Coupa platform.
• Partner with Procurement Operations, Finance, and other business stakeholders to understand system requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Manage application support activities, troubleshoot system issues, and coordinate the resolution of escalations.
• Evaluate, prioritize, and implement platform enhancements aligned with business needs.
• Identify opportunities to automate support workflows and improve the efficiency of application support processes.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on system functionality, usability, and operational effectiveness.
• Coordinate system changes, testing, and deployment activities to ensure platform stability and minimize business disruption.
• Work collaboratively with internal IT teams and relevant stakeholders to resolve technical issues and deliver system improvements.
• Maintain appropriate system documentation and support processes to promote consistency and effective knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the Coupa platform roadmap, with an increasing focus on strategic enhancements and optimization.

Qualifications

• At least three years of hands-on experience administering, supporting, or managing the Coupa platform.
• Experience with enterprise application ownership, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to support business users, investigate system issues, and manage escalations through to resolution.
• Experience partnering with Procurement, Finance, or other business functions to support application requirements and improvements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and recommend practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities while balancing platform ownership, support responsibilities, and enhancement initiatives.
• A proactive mindset and interest in continuous improvement and support automation.
