Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, insurance, or a related field.
- 8+ years of relevant legal or insurance experience with general liability claims.
- Juris Doctorate with relevant insurance coverage or defense litigation experience is advantageous.
Knowledge, Skills, & Competencies
- Extensive experience handling liability claims involving bodily injury and property damage, with significant exposure under primary and excess policies, across various U.S. jurisdictions, especially the South, Southeast, and California.
- Strong knowledge of case law, statutes, and procedures impacting general liability claims. Experience with claims for construction, premises liability, marine, etc., is beneficial.
- Proactive investigation, risk transfer, strategic claim handling, attorney management, and sophisticated resolution skills are essential.
- Excellent writing and communication skills for effective interaction with insureds, claimants, underwriters, team members, and management.
Compensation Overview
The base salary range is $121,763 - $177,469, with total rewards including bonuses, stock ownership, 401(k), and other benefits. Salary will depend on location, experience, and qualifications.
