Overview

AXIS Capital, a trusted global provider of specialty lines insurance and reinsurance, is seeking a Senior Claims Specialist focused on management liability claims within our North America claims team. The role involves investigating, analyzing, and evaluating third‑party liability claims for financial lines such as private equity, investment advisers, directors & officers, and insurance professional liability.

About the Team

The Management Liability team handles claims across various financial lines, collaborating with North America, International, and Financial Institutions units to develop innovative claims offerings and strategic plans.

How the Role Contributes

The selected individual will work with a team to investigate, analyze, and evaluate third‑party liability claims, ensuring proper coverage determinations. Expertise will be developed in directors & officers and financial institutions units while engaging with complex insureds on significant and dynamic disputes.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a Senior Claims Specialist focused on management liability claims within AXIS' North America claims team.
  • Handle a variety of liability claims, such as private equity, investment advisers' errors and omissions, directors and officers, and insurance professional liability.
  • Collaborate with team members across North America, International, and financial institutions units to create innovative claims offerings and strategic plans.
  • Determine the appropriate valuation of complex claims, recommend settlement strategies, adhere to company policies, and collaborate with insureds, brokers, and partners effectively.
  • Travel to participate in mediations, observe trials, and strengthen relationships with vital AXIS partners.
  • Escalate coverage concerns to internal teams and collaborate with external coverage attorneys when necessary.
  • Develop claims and litigation strategies, delegate tasks, and oversee the work of external legal advisors.
  • Assist with underwriting inquiries while analyzing claim trends, conducting data analysis, and performing comprehensive risk assessments to support decision‑making processes.
  • Maintain precise records of claim activities and promptly update systems with all relevant details to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Role Factors

Travel is associated with this role. The position requires in‑office presence three days per week and adherence to AXIS licensing requirements.

What We Offer

Base salary range: $105,000 – $173,000, based on experience and location. Competitive target incentive compensation tied to corporate and individual performance.
