PAD Training Program the winning move for you?

Are you a recent college graduate interested in a career in the insurance industry but have no experience, no sense of what that career path might look like, and no idea of how to get started? Consider applying for the Launch

PAD training program, offered by the Surplus & Specialty division of Crum & Forster, a national Property & Casualty insurance company, which achieved $1.5 billion in annual gross written premium in 2024. Just as the name suggests, Launch

PAD is designed to give your insurance career a turbo launch. Created by industry experts, you will be learning from the best in the business, with a “buffet” teaching approach that gives you a taste of various disciplines (Operations, Data Science, Actuarial, Legal), although the heavy focus will be in the areas of Underwriting and Claims. You will gain practical knowledge of the insurance industry, positioning you with a great foundation for a career in insurance, with a job when the program is over.

2026 will mark our third Launch

PAD cohort. Graduates of our first and second cohorts have been making an impact and have been very successful at advancing up the career ladder at Crum & Forster.

• Participate in a mix of classroom learning, online courses and real‑time, practical on‑the‑job training with experts from across the country.
• Build knowledge of the Insurance Industry and Surplus and Specialty lines.
• Develop strong working relationships with all levels of colleagues including senior leadership.
• Identify, evaluate and analyze insurance risks.
• Own the experience and give it your best shot. The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it.

• Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree.
• 3.5 cumulative GPA minimum.
• A minimum of one completed internship or co‑op experience.
• Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to multitask.
• Excellent computer skills including Word and Excel.
• Strong work ethic, communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong customer service and relationship building skills.
• Must be a team player.
