They’re hiring a Middle Market Underwriter to handle complex new and renewal business, evaluate and price large multi-line risks, and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulations. In this role, you’ll drive premium growth and profitability by developing innovative insurance solutions (including guaranteed cost, large deductible, and retro plans), while strengthening relationships across your network of brokers and agents. You’ll also contribute to the development and execution of agency strategies and mentor junior team members.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required – CPCU preferred

• 7+ years of casualty underwriting experience with an insurance carrier

• Advanced knowledge of Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto, and General Liability

• Experience with loss-sensitive deal structures such as large deductibles, retros, captives, and self-insurance

• Deep understanding of local/regional market conditions and strong distribution relationships

• Strong ability to assess risk, negotiate proposals, and deliver customized solutions

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Demonstrated success in premium growth, account management, and profitability

• Ability to mentor peers and collaborate across internal teams (Claims, Risk Control, etc.)

• Willingness to travel for business and maintain strong broker/agent visibility
