Job Description About This InternshipArch’s internship program offers students a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in the insurance industry. It provides challenging learning experiences that serve as a foundation for interns to explore their career choices and to develop professional skills. Working alongside some of the most talented members of the specialty insurance industry, interns will gain relevant expertise in various aspects of the field, participate in learning activities and receive ongoing feedback.
AboutThis Role
- Support the healthcare underwriting team with professional liability, general liability, umbrella, and excess coverages.
- Assist in underwriting tasks and analysis.
- Support projects related to professional, general, and excess liability coverage.
- Participate in risk assessment and evaluation.
- Work with the underwriting team on policy reviews and renewals.
- Contribute to reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Actively completing area of study in Insurance & Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or relevant program.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
- College level - current Junior or Senior student, with graduation dates ranging from December 2027 - May 2028.
- Strong proficiency in understanding financial statements.
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Strong analytical skillset, with a keen ability to think through issues Entrepreneurial spirit along with the desire to be a continuous learner.
- Team player who collaborates effectively.
- Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks/priorities in a fast-paced environment.
The program dates are June 2, 2027 – August 6, 2027. This position is classified as a hybrid position. You will work 3 days onsite and 2 days from home. This position is located in Chicago. Relocation and housing assistance is not provided for this role.

PayFor individuals assigned to or hired to work in Chicago, the hourly rate is $24 as of the time of posting. The breadth in the range exists to accommodate students in specialized programs such as actuarial candidates and graduate students. Any actual rate offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, along with the education & qualifications of the candidate.
The above range may be modified in the future. Intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits. $24 per hour
