Intern - Financial Lines

We are looking for an Intern for our Financial Lines Team. This will be a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL.

Allianz Commercial (AzC) specializes in corporate property insurance for the most complex and challenging risk exposures in more than 200 countries and territories. With a focus on larger international risk portfolios, we offer tailor‑made 'All Risks' property damage and business interruption insurance through our Allianz Commercial Property network.

When it comes to underwriting insurance products for well‑known famous sports venues, sports/entertainment facilities, major airlines, retail/wholesale companies, banks and manufacturers, we do it all!

• We’re looking for a motivated and curious intern to join our Financial Lines team. This internship is designed to give you hands‑on experience in the world of commercial insurance. You’ll work alongside our risk consulting, underwriting, and operational support professionals, gaining a real‑world understanding of how risk is identified, analyzed, and managed.
• This isn’t a “get coffee and make copies” kind of internship. You’ll be an active contributor from day one, with meaningful projects, mentorship, and exposure to multiple areas of our business.

• Help our team identify and analyze risk, contributing to the decisions that protect businesses around the world.
• Collaborate on a proof of concept for a new product offering or research initiative, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives.
• Gain exposure across lines of business, seeing the full picture of how our Risk Consulting team operates.
• Build connections across the organization through job shadows, internal meetings, and speaking engagements.

• Risk Consulting Support:
  Assist with identifying and analyzing risk, and learn how we advise clients on managing potential losses. You may work across different lines of business, giving you a broad view of our capabilities.
• Special Projects:
  Collaborate on a proof of concept for a new product or research effort. You’ll also take on projects that can be completed within the length of your internship, so you’ll see your work through from start to finish.
• On-the-Job Learning:
  Participate in a wide range of learning and development activities designed to immerse you in how insurance works, from the ground up.

• We’re not looking for someone who knows everything. We’re looking for someone who’s eager to learn, ready to contribute, and excited about solving problems. Here’s what will set you up for success:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field
• A minimum GPA of 3.0
• Comfortable with basic computer applications, including Excel and other Microsoft Office tools
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Solid problem‑solving and analytical thinking abilities
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• A self‑starter who also thrives as part of a team
• Fluent in English
• A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business is essential.

The hourly pay rate for this role is $27.00/Hr.
