Insurance Coverage Attorney

• Provide advice and counsel on a wide range of insurance coverage issues, including claims under commercial general liability, property, professional liability, and other policies.
• Analyze and interpret insurance policies to determine coverage obligations and exclusions.
• Manage all aspects of insurance coverage litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial preparation.
• Negotiate and draft settlement agreements to effectively resolve coverage disputes.
• Develop and execute strategies for mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Collaborate with clients, insurers, and other stakeholders to provide clear and practical legal solutions.
• Stay updated on developments in insurance law and contribute to firmwide knowledge sharing.

• J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in good standing with the State Bar of Chicago.
• 3+ years experience handling insurance coverage matters, with a strong focus on litigation.
• Exceptional analytical and writing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize competing deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with clients and team members.
• Experience in both insurer and policyholder representation is a plus.
• Prior experience mentoring and supervising junior attorneys, and familiarity with the regulatory landscape affecting insurance coverages in Chicago.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $160,000 - $220,000 per year, depending upon experience and other relevant factors. This is a bonus-eligible job that features a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
