Intellectual Property​/Patent Agent; Biotech

full-time opportunity is currently available for an Intellectual Property/ Patent Agent with extensive Biotechnology experience including Biopharma, Immunotherapy and Agricultural Biotech to join a highly stable and prestigious firm in the greater Chicago area. This position will be active subject to the status of Chicago’s re-opening.

• Work with scientist and clients to capture biotech innovations
  , review and analyze invention disclosures
• Analyze patent and scientific documents to assist with patent prosecution/ litigation
• Occasionally provide technical support relating to patent litigation
• Work with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO);
  writing and amending claims/ patents
• Client focused
  ; this position will assume client responsibilities for both domestic and international partners

• 2-5 years’ demonstrated experience of intellectual property (IP) experience is a MUST
• Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology or related field is a MUST
• Able to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office (
  USPTO
  ) is a MUST
• Prior work experience working with biopharmaceuticals, immunotherapy, agricultural biotech or a similar field is HIGHLY PREFERRED
• Previous experience working with international clients is a PLUS
