Description
The City of Chicago’s Law Department is hiring an Assistant Corporation Counsel III (ACC) for its Special Federal Litigation (SFL) Division. The ACC will defend the City and its police personnel in federal and state civil rights litigation involving alleged police misconduct, excessive force, and related claims.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and argue extensive motions, brief cases, and conduct discovery.
- Experience in substantive litigation: pleadings, motions, depositions, hearings, and trial.
- Superior writing, research, and editing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Client counseling and advisory experience.
- Exceptional organizational skills & ability to prioritize workflow deadlines.
- Commitment to public service.
- Admission to the Illinois Bar (or eligibility for admission on motion).
- Good standing with your state Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission.
