Intellectual Property Legal Project Assistant

Location: Chicago, IL

Salary: $65,000.00-$95,000.00

We are seeking a Legal Project Assistant in our Chicago office to support the attorneys and paralegals in our Intellectual Property Group to assist with various aspects of the Group's patent prosecution work. This person will also provide support for other projects and matters as required from time to time.

Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys and paralegals in electronic document preparation and case filings with the USPTO.
  • Provide independent management of case and project workload.
  • Draft, edit, and proofread internal and external communications while meeting required deadlines.
  • Prepare and file Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) for attorney and paralegal review.
  • Communicate with clients and prepare documents, reminders, and updates.
  • Work collaboratively with internal client teams and pair with paralegals to execute on client deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Intellectual Property patent prosecution experience preferred.
  • Client billable hour requirement of 1200.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong technology skills and experience with Microsoft Office/Outlook/PowerPoint and willingness to learn additional programs.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks simultaneously.
  • Highly motivated and a self‑starter.
  • Ability to work well in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment with minimal supervision.
