A law firm seeks an Estate Planning Attorney in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in estate planning and probate administration, working directly with high-net-worth clients and family offices. This role involves immediate responsibility for client relationships, drafting, and matter management, supported by experienced partners and staff.
Duties- Counsel clients on estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer planning.
- Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related instruments.
- Advise on asset titling and coordinated planning across various accounts.
- Manage probate and trust administrations, including court filings and asset management.
- Advise fiduciaries on duties and risk management.
- Support business-succession planning in collaboration with other teams.
- Coordinate with clients' external advisors on tax compliance.
- Conduct legal research and maintain organized matter files.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois or eligible for timely admission.
- Minimum of 5 years of focused trusts-and-estates experience.
- Strong drafting skills and attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of federal transfer-tax principles and Illinois probate practice.
- Excellent organization, judgment, and client-service skills.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois.
- Strong drafting and communication skills.
- Ability to manage matters independently and collaboratively.
- Familiarity with practice-management systems and document-automation tools.
