Position Summary An established and growing Colorado law firm is seeking a skilled and dedicated attorney with significant experience in first-party homeowner property claims to join its dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in representing policyholders in disputes with insurance carriers and a deep commitment to protecting the rights of homeowners.
Job Description This role requires a proven track record of success in handling claims involving hail, wind, fire, water damage, and other property-related perils. The attorney will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, litigating complex coverage issues, and pursuing favorable outcomes for clients throughout Colorado.
Qualifications & Skills
- Full-time employment
- 2+ years of litigation experience – First Party Property Damage experience is a plus
- Member of the Illinois Bar and in good standing
- Manage a caseload of first-party homeowner property insurance claims from inception to resolution
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
- Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, experts, and corporate representatives
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration
- Represent clients in court, including trials and hearings, as needed
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and clear explanations of legal strategies
- Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys
- Stay abreast of developments in Colorado insurance law and property claims
