About the Position

We are working with a prestigious global law firm that has an immediate need for an attorney with 3‑6 years of experience in employment law matters related to corporate transactions to join its Chicago office as an associate. The individual in this role will work closely with the firm’s highly‑regarded M&A practice to advise clients on the employment aspects of corporate transactions.

• Handle employment aspects of corporate transactions involving private equity clients and strategic investors.
• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, offer letters, separation agreements, and restrictive covenant agreements.
• Conduct legal research to ensure compliance with state laws.
• Advise clients on strategic approaches to structuring transactions, market practices and legal considerations on wage and hour, discrimination, performance, discipline, leave of absence, and disability matters.
• Assist with pre‑litigation disputes and litigation matters, and work alongside senior attorneys to develop case strategies and prepare court and agency filings.

• 3‑6 years of experience in employment law, particularly in private equity or M&A deals.
• Experience drafting and negotiating employment‑related agreements, including offer letters, restrictive covenants, and separation agreements.
• Experience handling employment disputes and/or employment investigations.
• Excellent academic credentials.

Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $260,000 – $390,000.
