Corporate M&A Counsel (7+ yrs) - Midsize Chicago Law Firm
About the Position: Our client, a collegial law firm with Midwest roots, is actively seeking a corporate M&A attorney to join its Chicago office as a counsel. This firm’s full‑service M&A practice works closely with attorneys across other practices—including tax, executive compensation and employee benefits, finance, IP and restructuring—to assist clients at every stage of the process, from crafting transactions and conducting due diligence to securing financing, negotiating terms, and documenting results.

- Counsel clients across a range of industries on corporate matters, including entity formation, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions
- Handle due diligence support and provide general business counseling and legal guidance
- Draft and review contracts and prepare corporate documents such as purchase agreements, disclosure schedules, operating/shareholder agreements, and related transaction documents
- 7+ years of corporate transactional experience, including strong experience with M&A
- Experience with private equity and/or private company transactions preferred
- An interest in business development is preferred
- Strong academic credentials and drafting skills
Chicago, IL (Hybrid)
Compensation:The anticipated base salary range for this position is $230,000+.
