REQUIREMENTS
Qualified candidates must hold a PhD in the biological sciences (i.e. Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Genetics) or a related field, and a USPTO registration number. The candidate is required to have experience drafting and prosecuting domestic and international patent applications and preferably also in preparing patent opinions specifically in biotechnology or similar technology. The ideal candidate will have immediately transferable skills, strong legal writing and research skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Top academics and law firm experience also required.
Attorney candidates also must hold a JD from an ABA-approved law school and must be in good standing and an active member of the Bar of the jurisdiction(s) where the candidate is admitted to practice law. Timely admission to the Bar of the state in which the office of hire is located will be a condition of employment.
