The Person al Injury Associate Attorney is responsible for managing a caseload of personal injury cases under the supervision of senior attorneys. This role involves client interaction, legal research, drafting, negotiation, and preparation for litigation.
Base pay range$75,000.00/yr - $/yr
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned personal injury cases from intake through settlement or trial preparation
- Conduct client interviews and maintain regular communication throughout the case lifecycle
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement demands
- Perform legal research and analyze applicable laws and regulations
- Attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and case-related meetings as required
- Collaborate with medical providers, experts, and investigators to support case development
- Negotiate settlements and assist in preparing cases for litigation
- Maintain accurate case records and meet all internal and court-imposed deadlines
- Work closely with supervising attorneys to ensure quality and consistency in legal strategy
- Contribute to team meetings and support ongoing case evaluations and reviews
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in Illinois
- 3-5 years of experience in personal injury law preferred
- Strong legal writing, research, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Client-centered approach with professionalism and empathy
- Proficiency in legal software and case management tools (e.g., Smart Advocate preferred)
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, on-site position (Monday–Friday)
- Occasional travel for court appearances or client meetings may be required
