Overview
Our client, a prestigious, global law firm, seeks multiple, well-trained corporate associates for its thriving Chambers and Partners ranked corporate law practice group in Chicago.
This collegial and collaborative practice group is known for its comprehensive mid-market practice representing private equity firms and corporate clients on a range of domestic and international deals. They possess expertise in the full range of transactional work including M&A, LBOs and restructurings. The group is active in private equity fund formation and global counseling, particularly for clients from the financial services and life sciences industries.
Successful candidates will produce acquisition, equity and related documents in a client-ready format, run key aspects of transactions (including supervising due diligence and more junior members of the deal team), coordinate specialty areas of a transaction, negotiate and revise key agreements, handle client communications, and work with partners as a key senior member of deal teams and client relationships. Attributes include the ability to play a first- or second-chair role on transactions;
to delegate and supervise junior associates; and to work effectively with colleagues in other practice areas and jurisdictions.

Requirements- 4 to 6 years of sophisticated merger and acquisition and private equity transactional experience from a nationally-recognized law firm practice, including hands on drafting and negotiating experience for complex M&A transactions.
- Excellent academic credentials from a top law school.
- Strong oral and writing skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel and others.
- Superior organizational skills and the ability to supervise others.
