Job Summary
Fisher Phillips is excited to offer an opportunity for attorneys with 5+ years of experience to join our Data Protection and Cybersecurity Team. This opportunity is only open in our Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Irvine, New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Diego and San Francisco offices. The role will involve both proactive and reactive privacy and data protection compliance matters, including advising on data security incidents, navigating related regulatory investigations, and ensuring compliance with contractual and legal obligations concerning cybersecurity.
Ideal candidates will have experience advising on privacy and security obligations, state, federal, and international data security incident notification requirements, and defending regulatory investigations related to data privacy and security.
The successful candidate will have experience in law firm or in‑house privacy and cybersecurity breach response, or data breach litigation, with a focus on several key attributes. These include exceptional project management skills, a strong awareness of data privacy and security laws, and effective written and oral communication abilities. The candidate should be able to manage a fast‑paced, complex workload while maintaining priorities and anticipating potential issues.
A motivation to learn and understand technology and forensic investigations is also essential, as the candidate must be able to interact effectively with technically‑skilled individuals and distill key issues for non‑technical business team members. Additionally, the candidate should possess the professional commitment and interpersonal skills necessary to thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Admission to the state bar of the state in which the associate resides.
- JD from an ABA accredited law school.
- Attorney must be located within reasonable proximity to one of the following offices:
Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Irvine, New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Diego, San Francisco.
The yearly salary range for this position is $145,000 - $250,000, based on location, experience, equity, skills and other job‑related factors.
