Position Summary

The Paralegal Studies Program at Roosevelt University invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track faculty and program director position to begin Fall 2026. We seek candidates who will contribute to the growth and excellence of our renowned paralegal education program and be responsible for program compliance with the American Bar Association Guidelines for Approval of Paralegal Programs. Successful candidates will teach courses, manage all aspects of the program and readily contribute to departmental and institutional activities as well as maintain ties with local and national paralegal professional and paralegal education communities.

For more than five decades, Roosevelt University’s ABA-approved Paralegal Studies Program has prepared students to make an immediate impact in law firms, corporations, and social justice organizations. Many of our graduates have successfully pursued law school and other advanced degrees. Located in the heart of downtown Chicago, the program offers both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate, emphasizing applied learning, small class sizes, and strong connections to the legal community.

Courses are available in multiple formats—including in-person, asynchronous online, remote, and hybrid (50% asynchronous and 50% remote)—to provide flexibility for diverse student needs.

  • Teaching: two to four paralegal courses per year; subject matter includes all aspects of paralegal studies, including, but not limited to legal ethics, legal research, legal writing, civil litigation, legal technology, and more
  • Program Development and Management: including compliance with American Bar Association Guidelines for the Approval of Paralegal Education Programs, which includes preparation of self-evaluation reports and coordination of ABA site visits
  • Curriculum Development and Hiring of Faculty
  • Student Recruitment and Advising
  • Supervise program’s assistant director and adjunct faculty staff, including required bi-annual meetings of all faculty
  • University service, including: participate in departmental, college, and university committees and governance; and support community engagement and student recruitment initiatives.
