Intellectual Property Associate

Chicago | Hybrid

An AmLaw-recognized law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Intellectual Property practice in Chicago.

This role is well-suited for an associate with experience across intellectual property prosecution and litigation matters who is looking to further develop within a balanced, full-service IP practice.

The associate will work with partners and senior attorneys on a range of intellectual property matters, including patent and trademark prosecution, IP litigation support, and related counseling. The practice offers exposure to both contentious and non-contentious IP work, meaningful responsibility, and opportunities for hands‑on involvement.

• 2–5 years of experience handling intellectual property prosecution and/or litigation matters

• Experience with patent and/or trademark matters preferred

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Ability to manage matters with increasing independence

• Admitted in Illinois or eligible to waive in

• Established Intellectual Property practice with national reach

• Balanced mix of prosecution and litigation work

• Collaborative team structure with partner access

• Hybrid flexibility in the Chicago office

• Compensation commensurate with experience and market
