The team at American Chrome Company (ACC) is actively seeking a Buyer Planner professional to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for anticipating and maintaining inventory levels to optimize and achieve organizational goals. This position is a key contributor to the success of the Supply Chain organization, driving the "Right Product, Right Place, Right Time" philosophy by actively managing schedules efficiently, providing input in replenishment methods and collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.

This role will work individually and within groups to develop procedures and processes to support supply planning function.

This role is on-site at our Bolingbrook, IL location, Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the availability of supplies through day-to-day communications with key suppliers, addresses expectations and timelines.
  • Responsible for analyzing customer forecast and sales history. Assess forecast accuracy and volatility.
  • Develop internal forecasts for demand based on various sources of information, Customer Forecasts, statistical forecasts, and NPI/NPD program launches.
  • Work closely with Commerical and Product teams to ensure Operations and Supply Chain alignment and readiness.
  • Ensures appropriate inventory levels and safety stock are available, while optimizing and improving inventory turns and inventory quality.
  • Identify E&O and assess opportunities to reduce.
  • Tracks shipment information from supplier to the distribution center.
  • Manages performance to maintain adherence to key metrics:
    In-stocks, On-Time Delivery, Days of Inventory.
  • Responsible for developing and executing purchase orders and transfers using the material requirements (MRP) system to meet supply requirements.
  • Sets priorities with suppliers on open and future purchase orders to ensure that company and departmental objectives are met, as well as ensuring ERP due dates are accurate.
  • Tracks Supplier confirmations to ensure purchase order acknowledgement.
  • Track Supplier quoted versus demonstrated lead times.
  • Partners with cross functional team on new product introduction to set effective dates and ensure inventory availability.
  • Provides thorough, accurate and timely supply planning master data in ERP, order points, safety stocks, Supplier lead time, Units of Measure among other planning parameters.
  • Work closely with Customer Care to ensure Sales Order commitment dates aligned to supply availability
  • Support Supplier Performance Reviews on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Develop Supplier Performance Improvement plans in collaboration with Suppliers.
  • Support Supplier Negotiations and agreement execution.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain or A.A. with 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in demand planning, supply planning or purchasing with strong understanding of supply chain principles and practices.
  • 3+ years of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) and Inventory Management experience is required.
  • Experience with ERP system, (Microsoft D365) desirable.
  • Experience with MRP Implementation and Optimization desirable.
  • Experience managing Suppliers in APAC preferred.
  • Experience in participating in S&O preferred.
  • Experience in Discrete Manufacturing and Distribution.

  • General knowledge of the environmental and quality systems.

Certificates and Licenses
  • APICS (CPIM/CSCP, etc.) - preferred
