Environmental Services Regional Director Position Overview
As the Environmental Services Regional Director, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating environmental programs and initiatives across multiple locations within our organization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, promoting sustainability practices, and driving continuous improvement in environmental performance. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of environmental regulations, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a regional environmental strategy aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Provide visionary leadership to the environmental services team, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility and sustainability.
- Stay abreast of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and ensure all operations within the region comply with applicable laws.
- Collaborate with legal and regulatory affairs teams to address compliance issues and mitigate potential risks.
- Design and implement comprehensive environmental programs, including waste management, pollution prevention, and energy conservation, to meet sustainability objectives.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor program effectiveness, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Cultivate strong relationships with internal stakeholders, such as facility managers, operations teams, and executives, to drive environmental initiatives across all levels of the organization.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, environmental organizations, and community groups, to enhance the organization's environmental reputation.
- Develop and manage the environmental services budget for the region, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost-effective implementation of environmental programs.
- Implement training programs to educate employees on environmental policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of environmental awareness and responsibility through ongoing communication and educational initiatives.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a leadership role within environmental services, with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective environmental programs.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Knowledge of emerging trends and best practices in environmental sustainability.
