PurposeThe Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for directing and overseeing the warehouse operations of each retail store. In addition, the Warehouse Supervisor supervises warehouse specialists, order pickers and forklift operators, and supports the Receiving Supervisor in managing the daily freight schedule based on customer and inventory needs.
Major Responsibilities- Daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper manning for shipping and receiving.
- Direct day‑to‑day warehouse activities—including shipping, receiving, maintenance, and inventory control.
- Manage warehouse aspects related to Storage Buy transactions, receiving errors, and product staging.
- Maintain warehouse equipment through preventive maintenance programs and reporting necessary repairs to CEM or Operations Manager.
- Implement warehouse safety programs to provide a safe and clean workplace in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Ensure all associates are trained and follow standard operating procedures.
- Oversee the progressive disciplinary process—counseling, oral and written warnings—to maintain a productive labor climate.
- Handle general employee inquiries and solve problems.
- Coordinate with other departments to facilitate efficient warehouse operations.
- Complete necessary activity reports for management.
- Monitor paperwork flow from Receiving to Inventory Control Specialist for timely data entry.
- Resolve discrepancies with shipping, invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
- Execute the Storage Buy Audit COP.
- Ensure products are staged for counting and inspection.
- Ensure products are stored properly to conserve space and comply with safety procedures.
- Oversee the rotation of inventories within the warehouse.
- Perform other related duties as directed by management.
- 1–3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution center (preferable).
- Excellent interpersonal, team‑building, delegating, and follow‑up skills.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with other departments.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Competent in basic mathematical calculations.
- Strong computer skills; familiar with Windows‑based systems.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and meet established deadlines.
- Availability for extended hours, especially during peak seasons.
- Frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles; moderate to noisy noise level.
Ability to exert 30–60 pounds of force occasionally or 20–30 pounds frequently; may lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Frequently required to stand, walk, reach, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects.
