Job Description

AKT is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee sales and operations for our brand new studio in Chicago Old Town.

AKT is a dance concept rooted in movement and positive energy. It promotes positivity, believing movement has a powerful, lasting impact. AKT is inclusive for all body types and fitness levels. Combining personal training with movement-based techniques, AKT empowers members to become stronger in their bodies, minds, and communities, all while having fun!

Position

The ideal candidate will primarily drive sales and marketing, while also overseeing daily studio operations, including staff management.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in fitness or relevant sales

• Confidence in generating personal sales and training Sales Reps

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with the studio owner

• Proficiency in managing revenue streams from memberships to retail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, diverse environment

• Good judgment in recognizing areas for improvement

• Passion for fitness

• Strong writing and grammatical skills

• Highly organized, proficient in data management, and able to prioritize

• Professional, punctual, reliable, and neat

Attention to detail and accuracy

• Trustworthy with confidential information

• Ability to work harmoniously with others

• Proficiency with computers and studio software

Duties

• Drive membership sales through outside sales and business development

• Lead generation via grassroots marketing and networking

• Manage staff schedules

• Coordinate with vendors for inventory management

• Supervise sales staff and trainers

• Use Club Ready for revenue and attendance reports

• Make high-level customer service decisions

• Collect outstanding dues

• Maintain studio cleanliness and organization

• Enforce policies and procedures

• Ensure all administrative supplies are stocked

• Participate in networking/community events and promotions

• Manage marketing campaigns to generate leads

• Perform other duties as assigned
