We are seeking a Tax Partner to serve as the growth engine for the Chicago tax practice, leading strategic expansion, driving business development, building a high-performing team, and ensuring exceptional delivery of tax compliance, provision outsourcing, and consulting services to middle-market clients across diverse industries.
Key Responsibilities- Grow the practice through service expansion, cross‑selling, and acquisition of new clients.
- Execute the firm’s tax vision, strategy, and goals for the Chicago market.
- Establish discipline around business processes and operational practices for the tax practice.
- Manage utilization, productivity, and financial results to achieve annual targets.
- Coach, mentor, and develop partners and professionals, building a strong talent pipeline.
- Promote collaboration across service lines, markets, advisory practices, and industry groups.
- Develop the annual budget and drive performance against KPIs.
- Expand the firm’s presence through strong networking and business development efforts.
- Active CPA license required.
- Extensive business tax experience from a large local, regional, or national public accounting firm.
- Expertise in federal (ASC 740), multi‑state, and international tax compliance and consulting.
- Experience serving middle‑market commercial industries such as Industrials & Consumer Goods, Private Equity, Real Estate, or similar.
- Prior leadership experience building or growing an office, service line, or practice.
- Ability to influence and lead partners and staff toward strategic objectives.
- Strong relationship‑building, communication, and client advisory skills.
