PUBLIC RELATIONS DIRECTOR – B2B FOOD & BEVERAGE

Our food and beverage practice is growing fast, and we’re seeking a bold, strategic PR leader to take charge. If you love the food trade and you thrive on mentoring teams, guiding client strategies, and delivering best‑in‑class PR and content programs, then this is your chance to make a lasting impact. You’ll lead programs that grow client businesses while shaping the PR department into a high‑performing, results‑driven function.

As a PR director, you’ll provide senior‑level oversight of food and beverage client programs and internal teams to ensure the right people, strategies and resources are in place to achieve measurable results. You’ll partner closely with client leaders and department heads to activate integrated communications plans, maintain client health and deliver impactful campaigns that win attention in trade media. From content strategy to execution, you’ll inspire teams and clients alike – bringing ideas to life that generate excitement, strengthen relationships and make headlines.

What

we’re looking for
  • 12+ years of agency experience with a proven record in PR leadership
  • Significant experience supporting the food trade industry
  • Exceptional skills in strategic thinking, decision‑making and future‑oriented planning
  • A strong mentor and coach who fosters career growth and develops high‑performing teams
  • Expertise in PR, content strategy and integrated communications, with a track record of delivering impact‑focused, high‑quality programs
  • Experience maintaining strong client relationships with marketing managers, directors and executive leadership
  • Ability to collaborate across accounts and disciplines, balancing long‑term strategy with short‑term execution
  • Skilled in conflict resolution, measurement and accountability, ensuring results and standards are met
  • Strong organizational, fiscal and personnel management capabilities
  • A passion for driving change, pushing boundaries and elevating both client and agency growth
Hours/Location

Chicago preferred. This is a full‑time position. Ideal candidates are expected to be on‑site in our Milwaukee or Chicago office for occasional team or client meetings.

Salary Range

$120,000–140,000 annually. The provided salary range is a good faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this hire. The actual salary offered will be influenced by candidate experience and other job and market‑related factors.
