Logistics Operations Manager for FedEx Ground Contractor

Job Summary

The Logistics Operations Manager will oversee, optimize, and manage day-to-day logistics operations for Fed Ex Ground Contractor facilities. This role is pivotal in ensuring timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery services while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence, safety, and compliance. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between Fed Ex Ground and the contractor team, implementing best practices, supervising staff, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across all logistics operations.

• Manage and oversee daily logistics operations, including package handling, routing, and distribution processes.

• Ensure operational goals are met in terms of productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency.

• Coordinate with Fed Ex Ground and contractor leadership to align operational strategies and objectives.

• Supervise, mentor, and train warehouse and transportation teams to improve performance and adherence to Fed Ex standards.

• Monitor and analyze operational KPIs, generate reports, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency.

• Ensure compliance with all company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety guidelines.

• Implement process improvements and lean methodologies to enhance operational workflows.

• Handle escalations, resolve operational issues promptly, and maintain high customer satisfaction levels.

• Participate in budget planning, workforce scheduling, and resource allocation for optimal operational performance.

• Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Proven experience in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations (minimum 5 years preferred).

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Proficiency in logistics software, warehouse management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong understanding of Fed Ex Ground operational standards and contractor requirements is a plus.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or warehouse operations.

• Previous experience managing contractor-based logistics operations is highly desirable.

• Hands-on experience with operational planning, staff management, and process improvement initiatives.

• Full-time position with flexibility to work extended hours or weekends as needed to meet operational demands.

• May require occasional travel to multiple contractor sites.
