Job SummaryThis position will be based out of our Chicago or Oak Brook office. The Vice President of Sales for Illinois will lead the sales strategy and operations, drive market position, reputation, profitability, and growth, nurture client experiences, and champion a culture of accountability, compliance, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities- Market Position and Growth:
Maintain pulse on market competition, cultivate high‑trust relationships with partners and stakeholders, co‑develop data‑driven strategies, collaborate on targeted business development, and champion change initiatives to advance client satisfaction and loyalty. - Strategy Execution:
Establish accurate annual sales plans, forecast market performance, engage in high‑profile pitches, manage discount programs, and maintain sales team accountability for forecast accuracy and contribution to sales targets. - Brand and Market Reputation:
Promote relationships within and across markets, participate in high‑profile events, capture and celebrate client testimonials, and reinforce the organization’s core values to strengthen market positioning. - Sales Team Leadership:
Foster operational efficiencies, evaluate team activities, enforce compliance, promote a values‑driven culture, implement performance management and succession planning, and develop capabilities through coaching and mentoring. - Client Relationship and
Experience:
Collect and respond to client feedback, maintain a client‑centric approach, serve as escalation point for inquiries, and leverage vendor partnerships to improve client experience and outcomes. - Other duties as needed or assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 10+ years in sales and/or account management.
- Experience in contract furniture dealership or related industry.
- Strong network across the market and region of interest.
- Skilled at leading and collaborating within sales and across project teams.
- Aptitude in leadership and negotiations.
- Ability to handle multiple accounts and projects concurrently.
- Proven track record in project, client, and relationship management.
- Ability to think strategically through the sales process.
- Conscientious, flexible, and problem‑solving oriented.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in Marketing, Business Design, Entrepreneurship, Communications, or related field.
- Ability to deliver effective presentations to varying audiences.
- Track record of over‑achieving sales quotas.
- Strong network within interior design and/or commercial real‑estate community.
- Track record of building and leading teams around mission, brand, and culture.
- Experience with CRM software, business application software, and analytics.
