As a Project Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of client projects, ensuring successful delivery from initiation through closure. You'll act as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and understanding their needs to drive satisfaction and project success. Collaborating closely with executive leadership, project teams, and client representatives, you'll align on goals, expectations, and timelines while managing resources, mitigating risks, and controlling project budgets.
We are looking for someone with 5+ years of experience PMing in a consulting environment. Please note, this is a hybrid role based in our downtown Chicago office.
What You'll Do
- Manage the full lifecycle of projects, from initiation through planning, execution, and closure, ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, build strong relationships, understand their needs, and ensure their satisfaction throughout the project.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders-including executive leadership, project teams, and client representatives-to ensure alignment on goals, expectations, and timelines.
- Oversee resource planning and allocation, ensuring that project teams are effectively staffed and utilized while balancing workload across multiple projects.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across the project or program, proactively addressing issues that may affect project success and providing solutions to keep projects on track.
- Manage project budgets, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting on financial performance to ensure profitability while controlling costs.
- Implement governance structures to monitor project health, report on progress to stakeholders, and ensure adherence to program objectives and compliance standards.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality solutions by monitoring project performance, conducting regular reviews, and implementing quality control measures.
- Lead, mentor, and support project teams, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting professional development.
- 5+ years PM experience in a consulting setting
- 2+ years of experience managing programs
- Willingness to learn in a rapidly moving environment
- Be results-oriented, able to be accountable for tasks and achieve objectives with minimal guidance
- Ability to handle multiple priorities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, including experience with project management tools
- Attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Ability to work well both individually and within a team
- Comfort in working in a small company atmosphere at a fast pace
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States without limitation
