Position: QA Technician - 3rd Shift (Major)

Position Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with quality and food safety requirements and will work directly with QA management.

Principal

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Job is an individual contributor.
  • Job has no direct reports.
  • Review QA/HACCP paperwork used in all production departments and fill it out correctly.
  • Interact and communicate with various team members in management, QA, production as well as government officials and 3rd‑party contractors.
  • Perform all QA technician responsibilities for routine quality checks and audits on production, the dock, and the facility.
  • Develop and maintain databases as needed.
  • Qualified to perform QA sampling and testing methods.
  • Understand the processes and methods involved in food production.
  • Implement appropriate safety procedures; achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment, and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills
  • 0‑1 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency in QA transactions, in SAP, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of GMPs, SSOPs, and HACCP principles.
Preferred Education
  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent work experience is required.
Work Environment
  • Work is generally performed within a business professional office environment, with standard office equipment available.
  • Work conditions are typical of an office & plant environment.
  • This role does not require any domestic travel.
  • Required to wear extensive GMP uniforms including hairnet, gloves, lab coats, and rubber boots; personal protective equipment such as cut‑resistant gloves, bump caps, steel mesh gloves is mandatory.
  • Position requires physical agility to perform continuous lifting up to 15 pounds, bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, stretching/reaching, use of hands or fingers, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, controls and standing/walking on concrete flooring.
  • Position requires the ability to stand and walk for the duration of work hours.
