Provide product quality control through sampling and analytical testing of various commodities stored at a terminal facility.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform control charting and equipment calibration as required.
- Customer reporting, including analysis feedback reporting (SAP systems).
- Manage sample retain and retention program.
- Customer Quality Log development, record control, and maintenance.
- Generate Certificate of Analysis (COA) documents.
- Research/create testing programs for new products.
- Perform routine cleaning/maintenance/repair on all lab equipment.
- Order lab equipment and supplies as needed.
- Coverage for other terminal lab technicians and personnel as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- GED, high school diploma, or college degree.
- 1 to 3 years of terminal experience required, and some lab experience preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of work experience in the petrochemical industry or a refinery.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization.
- At least 1 or more years of experience performing and detailed knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis methodology.
- High level of concentration and very detail-oriented.
- Familiarity with OSHA, DOT, industrial hygiene, and other industry regulations.
- Experience with handling hazardous liquid chemicals.
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, including Word and Excel.
- Must have good customer service skills.
- Superior work ethic and dependability.
- Excellent mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication, and percentages) are required.
- Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions as outside work is mandatory year-round.
- Physical requirements include, but may not be limited to, walking up and down stairs/ladders, negotiating uneven surfaces, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to wear standard PPE (hard hat, goggles, rain gear, steel toe boots), and qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
- Mandatory drug screening in addition to passing a background check necessary for hire.
Compensation: $30-35 per hour, commensurate with experience and skill set.
