Buyer, Manufacturing ​/ Production

The role of the Buyer is to effectively work with all production management and supervision to provide required raw materials, MRO items and other purchased services/components to ensure smooth business flow of operations. This role requires effective communication dealing with the reduction of costs through price negotiation and communication. Analysis and recommendations of purchase strategies are necessary to keep the organization in a competitive position.

This role is directly responsible for all outside sublet manufacturing for on‑time delivery and price adherence. Job closings are performed and reviewed at the level of operations understanding and opportunities are provided to management on a regular basis.

• Manufacturing Plant and Office
• Can be very hot during certain seasons

• Review backlogs and orders to ensure raw materials are ordered accurately and on‑time
• Ensure that all MRO items are ordered timely and arrive on‑time
• Work with requisitioners at all levels
• Close production orders monthly and provide accurate information
• Ensure all sublet business is properly ordered and followed to ensure accurate on time delivery
• Expand business system utilization towards MRP and planned purchased
• Reduce all raw inventory levels
• Attend and provide specific scheduling support as required plant wide

• Diligence to manage time effectively
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel spreadsheets and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Adherence to health and safety regulations
• Attention to detail
• Teamwork and effective communication skills
• Work diligently both alone and as part of a group
• Help where necessary on other job assignments

• Ability to perform accurate calculations required.

• High School diploma or GED
