Receiving and Inventory Lead
Location:
Chicago, IL. Compensation: $50-55/annually.
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Receiving & Inventory Lead to oversee the receiving, inspection, and tracking of incoming materials, as well as manage inventory accuracy within our manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the receiving and inspection of incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Record and verify all inbound materials against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Label and organize inventory according to established processes.
- Maintain accurate records in inventory management systems (e.g., ERP/WMS).
- Coordinate material movements to and from production, ensuring timely availability.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with full inventory audits.
- Monitor and report inventory discrepancies and investigate root causes.
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with company policies and safety standards.
- Train and lead warehouse associates in receiving and inventory processes.
- Communicate regularly with procurement, production, and quality control teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse, inventory, or receiving in a manufacturing setting.
- Prior leadership or team lead experience highly preferred.
- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and operate forklifts or other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Strong math, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Self‑motivated, dependable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Flexible with schedule (early starts, late stays if needed).
- Follows verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Collaborates closely with all departments.
- Accurately document and file all incoming/outgoing materials per policy.
- Manage inventory: input data into GP, label materials, monitor stock levels.
- Prepare reports for damaged or non-conforming items.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
- Follow all company policies, safety rules, and GMP/sanitation standards.
- Must be a reliable team player with consistent attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Logistics Manager or department leads.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in shipping/receiving.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and able to use PC/tablet/print labels.
- Food manufacturing experience required.
- Inventory experience.
