Base pay range

$45,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr

General Summary

The role of the Production Supervisor is to ensure employee safety, product quality and asset performance while delivering on time the shift/line/area production plan. This is accomplished by leading a large team of employees. Leadership of people includes participating in the hiring process, employee on-boarding, performance management and corrective action. Pro‑active cooperation with other groups on site and within Crescent Foods to ensure that their area and people are fully aligned with the company.

While ensuring manufacturing key performance metric indicators support the highest level of customer service and manufacturing efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure continuous line Controls and immediate corrective action to assure prescribed quality and to ensure compliance with manufacturing instructions, internal and external regulations, procedures & policies
  • Direct and coordinate plant operations within company policies and procedures
  • Assures consistent quality of production by developing and enforcing Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP); validates processes; providing documentation; HACCP and managing staff throughout the production plant.
  • Accountable on conformance to manufacturing plans, meeting established performance metrics and achieving productivity/financial goals
  • Providing leadership for employee through effective communications, coaching, training and development.
  • Responsible for establishing all shifts production
  • Responsible for the product quality and quantity according to daily customer orders
  • Train and lead production staff on waste control
  • Assist in production activity control to meet business and financial objectives.
  • Assist with the development of inventory control techniques to avoid shortages and excesses
  • Assist in controlling production costs while maintaining the quality standards
  • Assist in external auditing schemes such as GFSI - BRC / SQF-Safe Quality Food requirements including various customer / 3rd party audit expectations.
  • Assist with the management of customer service activities including order entry, customer satisfaction, interface with sales, production, labs, regulatory, and quality ensuring that Crescent Foods customer service creates competitive advantage in marketplace including resolving critical customer complaints
  • Communicate production updates to the Production Master Scheduler
  • Assist Production Master Scheduler with team performance metrics, evaluates productivity, and helps management and employees create long‑term career plans within Crescent Foods
  • In the absence of the Production Supervisor the Production Master Scheduler will fill‑in.
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates
Required Competencies, Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities
  • Knowledge of state, local and federal food safety laws including SQF, USDA, GMP’s, CCP, HACCP, SSOPs and SOPs, Food Defense and Food Safety Culture guidelines and regulations.
  • Proficient in standard business office software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Fluency in written and verbal English
  • Demonstrated independent work initiative, sound judgment, diplomacy, analytical ability and professional demeanor
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in working with frozen food forms and FSMA compliance
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in food plant operations, food safety, sanitation and or pest control.
  • Experience with OSHA, EPA and other regulations and standards such as NFPA (National Fire Protection Association)
  • Certifications in Food Safety, HACCP and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • 1-3 years direct reports with supervisory experience
  • R & D a must
  • USDA Experience a strong plus
  • Poultry, Meat, and handling, preparing or cooking background a must
  • Ability to speak and communicate in Spanish, a plus but not mandatory
