CNC Lathe Setup Machinist

Base pay range

$28.00/hr - $35.00/hr

As a CNC Lathe Setup Machinist in Bedford Park, IL, you’ll thrive in a true job-shop environment producing precision components for the rubber roller industry. This full‑time position (40 hours per week, with overtime as needed) places you at the center of our turning operations—setting up, operating, and continuously improving processes as our programming capabilities expand.

• Review travelers and blueprints, plan setups, and select tooling and work holding.
• Set up and run CNC lathes (2–4 axis) using Fanuc controls and G-code.
• Dial in speeds and feeds, machine first articles, and verify dimensions to tight tolerances.
• Troubleshoot issues in machine or in the program; make real‑time adjustments.
• Keep accurate daily documentation while maintaining a clean, organized work area.
• Support other machines as needed and collaborate with a team that values initiative.

• 3+ years of CNC lathe setup and operation experience; exposure to additional equipment is a plus.
• Hands‑on proficiency with Fanuc controls and G-code.
• Strong measurement skills using calipers, indicators, and related metrology tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• On‑machine programming experience preferred.
• Self‑starter attitude in a fast‑paced, team‑driven environment.
